Mr. Robert Kalin Cook

OBMG Board Member

Robert Kalin Cook is a graduate of SUNY Maritime College. He graduated in 2017 with a Third Mate Unlimited Deck License and a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Transportation. 

After graduating, “Kalin”, worked in the Philadelphia Harbor as a launch boat operator and later with Moran Tug and Towing doing ship assist. He then went deep sea working as a Third Mate with Celebrity Cruise Lines, operating in the Baltics. Currently, he is shipping with Masters, Mates and Pilots Union; as well as running as a mate for ship assist tugs in the philadelphia harbor.

“I look forward to continuing to work with OBMG. The goals and possibilities of such an organization are deeply inspiring. I see a future for the OBMG that includes a strong network of friends, business partners, and professionals. I would like to continue working with an organization that sees the potential in minority mariners and professionals and is willing and able to help cultivate such potential. I envision the possibility of growth within OBMG to include a wider reach of the scholarships, mentorship, and industry networking.”
